Care & Treatment
Every piece we make is crafted from real wood and real wood has character. Grain variation, knots, color shifts, and natural movement are not flaws; they’re proof your piece is one of a kind.
To keep your item looking its best for years to come, please follow the care guidelines below.
General Care
• Keep indoor wood products away from prolonged moisture and excessive humidity
• Avoid placing indoor pieces directly against heat sources
• Clean with a soft, dry or lightly damp cloth; avoid harsh chemicals
Cutting Boards & Serving Pieces
Hand wash only with mild soap and warm water
Do not fully submerge in water
Dry immediately after washing
Periodically condition with food safe mineral oil, board wax, or board cream as needed
Never place in a dishwasher
Do not soak or leave standing water on the surface
Decorative & Furniture Items
Dust regularly with a microfiber cloth
For finished surfaces, a light furniture wax may be applied occasionally
Small seasonal movement (expansion or contraction) is normal
Avoid placing hot or wet objects directly on finished wood surfaces
Outdoor Wood Care
Our outdoor pieces are built and finished for exterior use. Like all natural wood exposed to the elements, appearance will gradually change with weather and time.
• Keep drainage openings clear and allow water to drain freely
• Avoid allowing standing water or debris to remain against wood surfaces
• Clean periodically with mild soap and water; avoid harsh chemicals or pressure washing
• Inspect the finish periodically and reapply an appropriate exterior wood treatment when needed
• Natural color changes, checking, and seasonal wood movement may occur with outdoor exposure
Planter Care
• Plant directly in the planter unless otherwise specified
• Do not install plastic liners or landscape fabric in enclosed-bottom planters
• Keep drainage openings clear of roots, soil buildup, and debris
• Do not allow standing water to remain inside the planter
• Soil may remain in the planter during the growing season; inspect and clean the interior between plantings as needed
With proper care, your piece will age naturally and develop the character that only real wood can.
